There are many boutique art galleries in Waikiki, but one of the newest and most impressive additions is the aptly named Aesthetic Hawaii. The vibrant gallery/shop is located within the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort next to Duke’s Restaurant & Bar. In our opinion, the best way to sum up the colorful offering within, is museum quality Polynesian-pop. We’re talking high-end pieces that throwback to the days of old when PanAm controlled the skies between the mainland and the island chain. Want a $700 wall-hanger depicting shave ice or Primo Hawaii brew? This is where you go. And yes, the price tags are absolutely fair as the gallery curates the work of local artisans who earn a living putting smiles on the faces of all who enjoy their wares. That said, the shop also has smaller lower cost prints and other items (tote bags, etc.) for those who do not intend to invest in premium local art on their vacation. Feel free to pop in and browse as there is absolutely no pressure to buy from the friendly and helpful staff.
