The Waikiki Beachcomber has traded hotelier brand hands a few times, and all have been pretty great, but the recent acquisition by Outrigger Resorts was the ultimate game changer. Outrigger gave the property a serious facelift to deliver their renown for blending tropical aesthetic with upscale decor and amiable service. While the rates may reflect these upgrades, it is one of Outrigger Resorts more affordable properties, especially if you have the flexibility to monitor their website for ongoing specials and strike when the price is right.

While amenities are on par with what we’ve all come to expect from Hawaii’s favorite resort franchise, one of the most appealing aspects of the property are the those not directly connected to Outrigger, but located right there in the second level lobby. This includes Hawaiian Aroma Caffe, which is the best cafe in Waikiki Beach, and Maui Brewing Company, which pours the best beer in the same vicinity. Collectively this makes the Waikiki Beachcomber the most fun of all upscale resorts on the south shore of Oahu.
