With one truck parked in the heart of Haleiwa Town (next to the horrible stand that sells seashells and painted coconuts from Thailand) and another embedded near Banzai Pipeline, Crispy Grindz is a staple in the North Shore mobile eatery scene. They hock Brazilian takes on chicken balls and wonton wraps but are best known for their post-surf smoothies and blended fruit vessels, namely their acai bowl. Yes, another stand selling acai bowls off of Kamehameha Highway. Not too original, right? Hold your horses, because Crispy Grindz is indeed an instigator when it comes to the acai bowl scene. Unlike all of the rest they use a natural unfrozen blend which creates a distinct texture and flavor thanks to the complete absence of crushed ice. It changes the entire profile of the bowl, and it works, bringing out the flavor of the antioxidant-rich berry along with your chosen add-ons.
