Pau Hana Place Waikiki

Best outdoor set-up to gather and eat in the Waikiki area

Pau Hana Place Waikiki

Pau Hana Place Waikiki opened up at Ala Wai Harbor between the main tourist drag and Ala Moana Shopping Center early in 2023. This gathering and dining space feels like a bit of an experiment, as it’s located in an area with very little foot-traffic and may eventually close if word doesn’t catch on. That’s why we’re featuring Pau Hana Place on our Oahu dining recommendations today, because it would be a shame for it to go away.

Admittedly, the food and beverages being served aren’t as inspiring as the fare found at a similar set-up nearby at Kewalo Basin Harbor, which is why we’re not recommending any orders in particular. That being said, the reasonably-priced menu offers enough to sustain you on a day of adventure on the sea. In fact, the establishment was built to accommodate visitors who embark and return from scuba, sea life spotting, and sunset tours at Ala Wai.

Where Pau Hana Place shines best is with respect to layout and island design/decor. The expansive outdoor dining venue is decked out in a fun tropical aesthetic that will keep patrons snacking and sipping for hours on end as they attempt to capture photos from morning to night. Manage your expectations and you’ll enjoy this gathering place with friends, ohana, and fellow travelers.
