Haleiwa Bowls North Shore

Funnest place to get an acai bowl on Oahu

Haleiwa Bowls North Shore Oahu

Haleiwa Bowls is one of the original acai bowl purveyors on the North Shore. They had a small shop across from Haleiwa Store Lots, but have since moved down the road and are now diagonally across from 7-11 and Haleiwa Joes at the bend of Kamhameha Highway and Haleiwa Road.

What makes Haleiwa Bowls the “funnest” place to get an acai bowl on an island full of eateries, juiceries, and food trucks all hocking the same menu item? For one, it’s a proper palm-thatched tiki hut of an establishment, making it the most photographic of like-minded businesses on Oahu. It’s for this reason that people don’t mind waiting in long lines to order even though there is a Banzai Bowls a stone’s throw away. While outdoor patio seating is limited, if you happen to score a spot you will also enjoy a great people and vehicle watching view, and if you crane your neck you can watch the boats coming in and out of the nearby harbor. The staff is also extremely pleasant, and they don’t roll their eyes as you take forever to decide what you want in your order. The latter used to be an easy enough feat, but as the business expanded so has their menu. But to this day we still love the Hapa Bowl – a tropical blend of acai, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries topped with granola, local bananas, raw coconut flakes, and local raw honey along with any other toppings you want to add for a little extra dough. One of the most popular of late, is the Blue Majik Bowl, which blends pineapple, banana, and blue majik spirulina – one of the ultimate Hawaiian superfoods – and is topped with granola, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, maui bee pollen, and raw honey.

Haleiwa Bowls is the most fun place to get your superfood fruit bowl fix, and for many it’s the outright best. Try them out and judge for yourself (and let us know what you think).
