The “Wiki Wiki One Day Vintage Collectibles & Hawaiiana Show” is as much of a mouthful as the name of the Hawaiian state fish (humuhumunukunukuapua’a). But when the quarterly event rolls into the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, all of Oahu’s pickers, collectors, and casual fans of Hawaiiana get excited. There’s a bit of everything on sale at the show, including comic books and vintage vinyl to nautical wares and collectible glass bottles. That said, the biggest draw is as the name indicates – vintage goodies from Hawaii’s golden days, namely those from before it was “encouraged” into statehood.
Treasure hunters find original print advertising from iconic hotels such as the Moana Surfrider and Royal Hawaiian Hotel, along with those of airlines that originally serviced the island chain, including PanAm and United Airlines. There are antique Okolehau decanters, old maps of the islands, period piece concert posters from bands that performed in Honolulu decades ago, and lots of surf memorabilia. And of course, there are thousands of aloha shirts.
The event is a four-season affair, which means that there is one in the spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The specific dates vary by year, but we will update this listing each annum so that you known when to plan your visit.
